Patriots' Path at Eden Lane
Today I went on a 12 mile hike from Lurker Park to Frelinghuysen Arboretum. The hike was very cool, and was nice. The hike had a lot of street walking and some trail walking. It had some nice places. The trail goes through Hanover Farms, Troy Meadows, Bee Meadow Park, Central Park of Hanover, and the North Tract of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum. These are the nicest places on the trail.
Temporary End of Patriots' Path in Bee Meadow Park
The Bee Meadow Park section is still incomplete, but soon it will go to Parsippany Road near Woodland Avenue and the trails will connect. For now though, the Bee Meadow Park section does not connect. The trail we hiked is the future trail and is not and official easement yet. The trail will soon be developed. Also, many changes to the trail are coming. Soon, the Highlands Ridge Park section in Chester will be open. Also, there is going to be a new blue spur to the Morris Plains Train Station. The Golf Course section in Washington Township will soon be blazed through the swamp (on boardwalks) and connect to the hunting trail. The trail may also run through land owned by Hanover Township across from Hanover's Central Park instead of that long street walk. Stay tuned for more updates about the completion of Patriots' Path.
